SDS-sponsored bill requiring local consent for asylum centres rejected

Ljubljana, 25 April - The National Assembly voted down an opposition-sponsored bill under which government plans to erect asylum centres or other accommodation facilities for migrants would require consent from local communities. The government and the coalition argue that this would undermine the balance of powers between local government and state bodies.
