From Yugoslav roots to NATO force, Slovenia's rapid military transformation

Ljubljana, 27 March - Slovenia's accession to NATO 20 years ago entailed a far-reaching transformation of the armed forces that had been rooted in former Yugoslav doctrines. While a step away from the initially embraced US training approaches was necessary, experts say that NATO standards were reached fast, boosting expertise, responsibility, and ethical conduct.
