UN Security Council membership vote
"Opportunity for Slovenia, test for the West": Slovenia made it to the UN Security Council once a quarter of a century ago. The country will have an opportunity to repeat that achievement in today's vote at the UN headquarters in New York. (front page, page 3)

Visit by South Korean delegation
"They see opportunity in second nuclear unit": Even though the government is yet to make a decision on the second unit at the Krško nuclear power plant, nuclear technology providers, including from the US and France, have been presenting themselves to the government for quite a while. The opportunity for cooperation in the field is also seen by South Korea, the paper writes about a visit led by senior lawmaker Chung Woo-taik. (front page, page 8)

Ljubljana shooting
"Bloody showdown in Ljubljana": Ljubljana was shaken by yet another shooting showdown on Monday afternoon. Delo's sources suggest money was the motive for the shooting, in which Rabella pawn shop partners were killed. The shooter committed suicide. (front page, page 10)

Public broadcaster
"Grah Whatmough avoided the meeting": The new RTV Slovenija governing council met for the maiden session just over a week after the Constitutional Court's decision. Acting director general Andrej Grah Whatmough failed to attend the meeting even though it was him who called it in a move criticised by the councillors. (front page, page 2)

National library extension
"Still looking for money for NUK II": The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation still does not know how it will finance the construction of an extension to the National and University Library (NUK) even though PM Robert Golob said in November the money would come from recovery plan loans. (front page, page 8)

Ljubljana shooting
"Shot two men at bar terrace in broad daylight, fled and committed suicide": Dušan Vulić, a man well-known to the police, shot the owners of the Rabella pawn shop in a popular Fužine bar yesterday afternoon before driving off and committing suicide. (front page, page 10)

"Fall in orders, some resort to layoffs": With Germany in recession, the paper talks to five major Slovenian export companies about the state of their business. They all report falling orders, some mention cost cuts, as well as redundancies. (front page, pages 2, 3)

Healthcare
"Half a year into reduction efforts, wait times in healthcare much longer": Data released by the National Institute of Public Health shows wait times for health services have increased substantially since additional money was secured to cut wait times. Since November 43% more patients wait too long. (front page, pages 4, 5)

"What is going on with Koroška property prices": A delay in the construction of the north-south expressway, Novartis's withdrawal from Prevalje and higher interest rates have reduced demand for properties.(front page, page 14, 15)

Ljubljana shooting
"He shot two men and committed suicide": Dušan Vulić, a person well-known to the police, shot dead pawn shop co-owners at the Sombrero bar in Ljubljana's Fužine. (front page, page 9)

"MLM still on sale": Slovenian Sovereign Holding as the sole shareholder of the Maribor foundry MLM offset EUR 5 million loss through a capital reduction at the shareholder meeting yesterday so the company can await potential sale in a better shape. Talks are said to be finalised. (front page, page 3)
