Russia-China talks
"Putin and Xi would shape the world and justice": The Russian and Chinese leaders, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, meeting in Moscow sent the world the message that China and Russia have enough power to shape the world and justice just like the US had until recently. (front page, 5)

Politics
"Trampling on legal opinions": The ruling coalition takes into account the opinions of the parliamentary legal service when it suits it. When unhappy with an opinion, it can order an "independent legal opinion on the market". (front page, 2)

Football
"Slovenian football players already in Astana tonight": Slovenian football players will enter the qualifications for the European championship without hesitation. (front page, 18)

China-Russia talks
"Xi to Moscow with peace plan": Russian President Vladimir Putin assured his guest in Moscow, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, that Moscow was treating China's peace initiatives with respect. (front page, 6, commentary 12)

Pension reform
"'I get that a reform is necessary but I just don't want to be a part of it'": A pension reform is one of the key goals of the new government coalition but not much is known about it as it is being overshadowed by a health reform. The coalition is to discuss it at the end of the month. (front page, 2-3)

Buses in Ljubljana
"Additional platforms for bus terminal that is too small": The current central bus terminal in Ljubljana has 33 platforms, while the new one will only have 30. Warnings are coming in that it will be too small, especially since it is to last at least a few decades. (front page, 8)

Healthcare
"Who bagged the money intended for cutting waiting times?": Concessionaires in healthcare used the opportunity to work more and earn more money last year much better than public health institutions. (front page, 2-3)

Interest rates
"Fed weighing between price and financial stability": Markets are more divided than ever as they anticipate the announcement of the US Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates. (front page, 5)

Credit Suisse
"What are AT1 bonds and do Slovenian banks have them?": In the process of salvaging Credit Suisse EUR 16 billion worth of subordinated bonds will be wiped out. (front page, 4)

Spade of the Year
The paper announces the 2022 Spade of the Year ceremony, to be held in Maribor on 1 April to hand out the award for the most apt statement capturing the spirit of the previous year.

Lay-offs
"Those laid off in Podravje will get jobs": The workers laid off by companies Magna and A&E Europe will have no problems finding a new job given the demand for workers in the Podravje region, says Bernard Memon, head of the regional branch of the Employment Service. (front page, 2-3)

Maribor hippodrome
"Hippodrome tainted with debt again": A new owner of the Kamnica hippodrome promised in June 2021 a revival of 140-year-old facility. But Konjeniški Center did not prove to be a good tenant, as it owes some EUR 50,000 to the owner, the Maribor municipality. (front page, 18)
