Education
"Covid certificate compliance looms over secondary school students in red phase": On top of uni students, the tested-vaccinated-recovered ruled may be also imposed on secondary school students in the red phase. More details about the upcoming school year are expected to follow next week. (front page, pages 4-5)

"Hojs's overquick fingers": Interior Minister Aleš Hojs insulted members of a police trade union by calling them "lazybones", which has raised a lot of dust in the public. (front page, page 3)

"New milestone in Prekmurje football": After beating Lithuania's Žalgiris, Slovenian football champions Mura have one more round of qualifying to either make it to the Europa League or Conference League. (front page, page 18)

"Unemployment figures looking optimistic?": The latest figures by the Employment Agency show that Slovenia's unemployment rate fell for the sixth month in a row, but economist Bogomir Kovač warns that statistical data can be misleading as the numbers do not reflect the actual situation. Agriculture
"Trade fair rivalry": This year's international agriculture and food fair Agra will feature some 1,100 participants from 29 countries, however 25 major exhibitors, who gave the initiative for a rival fair, will not take part. (front page, page 6)

"Foreign beggars in the city again": The end of July saw the return of foreign beggars, who were absent during lockdowns with the local police department saying they are EU citizens and could be victims of human trafficking.
