Ombudsman calls for prevention of violence against elders
Ljubljana, 14 June - Slovenian Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina warned ahead of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day that the elderly are one of the most vulnerable groups in society, often overlooked and ignored. Society must remain vigilant and take action in cases of violence. He also pressed for a positive attitude towards ageing.
