Vote of no confidence
"Masks are off, Janša government stays on": After a day-long listing of accusations against the government by the opposition on the one hand and of its achievements by the coalition on the other, only 40 MPs voted in favour of a vote of no confidence in the Janez Janša government. Telecommunications
"Four bidders for 5G": Four bids have been submitted for frequencies for the fifth generation mobile network with the result of the auction not to be known for several months longer. (front page, page 8)

Excess mortality
"Considerable excess of average of deaths": Even though the coronavirus epidemic appears to be declining, the global and domestic death tolls are considerable; last year Slovenia had almost 3,650 deaths above the average for the past five years, and Europe more than 300,000. (front page, page 3)

Lockdown easing
"At least a semblance of normality returns": People welcomed the relaxation of some of the coronavirus restrictions yesterday with a relief. (front page, page 3)

Vote of no confidence
"Erjavec and KUL lose duel vs Janša": The vote of no confidence in the Janez Janša government sought by Karl Erjavec and the Constitutional Arch Coalition (KUL) failed with only 40 MPs voting in favour. 53 MPs cast their vote with six invalid ballots deciding the outcome. Back to school
"Joy, but also fear as classes start": After 17 weeks, primary pupils and final year secondary students in the western half of the country returned to schools. Joy was notable even among teachers, who had to get tested for coronavirus before returning to classrooms. (front page, page 4)
