The 25-kilometre mountain run EcoTrail Euromarathon 2016 will be held in Ankaran on Sunday, taking the runners across the coastal hills, through vineyards and past olive groves and forests.

The run, which also offers a 7-kilometre Mini Trail, is ideal for those who want to avoid running on asphalt, as 80% of the track are macadam roads.

Those enjoying running for a good cause will meanwhile be able to join the 6th Veggie Run in Celje, regardless of whether they are vegetarian or not.

Sunday's six- and eleven-kilometre runs on sandy, grassy and asphalt surfaces will help raise funds for charities providing for pets and animals.

The 35th St Martin's Run, Hike and Cycling will attract visitors with its traditional tasting of young wine.

Runners will also be able to enjoy the view of the picturesque Slovenian coast from Belvedere, one of the best viewpoints on the coast, and run only metres away from the sea for several kilometres.
