Proposed bill gives police sweeping new powers

Ljubljana, 27 October - Slovenian police will get new surveillance tools and powers under controversial amendments to the act on police powers that the government adopted on Thursday. Officers will be allowed to use tasers, they will get automatic licence plate recognition systems, and access to air passenger records.
