Ljubljana, 17 May (STA) - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 17 May:

LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Janša is scheduled to host a meeting of leaders of parliamentary parties on the inclusion of the golden fiscal rule of zero deficits in the Constitution and changes to referendum legislation; Parliament House, Šubičeva 4, 8 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet will hold its weekly session to discuss changes to the illegal labour act and to act on state guarantee for the loan for new generator at TEŠ power plant and much debated changes to act on ownership transformation of Loterija Slovenije; Government HQ, Gregorčičeva 25, 10 AM.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - Interior ministers from the Western Balkans will hold a conference on police cooperation in tackling human trafficking; Brdo Conference Centre, Predoslje 39, 2:30 PM.

MARIBOR - Nobel Peace Prize laureates Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, Guatemalan human rights activist Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Bangladeshi economy expert Muhammad Yunus and Slovenian environmentalist Lučka Kajfež Bogataj will take part in a debate on the need for dialogue in a time of global crisis. They will hold a press conference prior to the debate; SNG Drama Theatre, Slovenska 27, 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary defence and foreign policy committees will be in session to debate Slovenia's plans for participation in the UNSMIS UN observer mission in Syria; Parliament House, Šubičeva 4, 8 AM.

* LJUBLJANA - The STA will run a backgrounder ahead of the 20th anniversary of Slovenia joining the UN.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport will hold a press conference on World Information Society Day, as part of which minister Žiga Turk will present Slovenia's digital champion Aleš Špetič; Maxi klub, Trg republike 1, 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Business consultant Peter Kraljič will deliver a lecture on globalisation and competitiveness organised by the Rotary Club Ljubljana Emona; University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 2, 6 PM.

LJUBLJANA - A seminar looking at the history and future of the Non-Alligned Movement will be organised by the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) together with the Slovenian International Relations Association and the Indonesian Embassy in Vienna; TR3 Office Tower, Trg republike 3, 4 PM.

KRANJSKA GORA - The Slovenian Tourism Exchange, organised by the Slovenian Tourism Board, will get underway, running until Saturday.

KRANJ - Montenegro will open its Consulate in Kranj at a ceremony to be attended by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Božo Cerar and his Montenegrin counterpart Nebojša Kaluđerović; consulate, Tavčarjeva ulica 41, noon.

LJUBLJANA - The organisers of the Kino Otok - Isola Cinema international film festival will present the programme for this year's edition of the festival; Kinodvor theatre, Kolodvorska 13, noon.
