Bosnian President Starts Visit Today

Ljubljana, 26 November (STA) - The chair of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency, Zeljko Komsic, will begin a two-day visit to Slovenia on Thursday. Komsic and Slovenian President Danilo Tuerk are expected to discuss ways to boost economic ties, succession to the former Yugoslavia, and Bosnia's efforts to join the EU and NATO.

Apart from meeting Tuerk, Komsic is scheduled on Thursday to hold meetings with National Assembly Speaker Pavel Gantar, Prime Minister Borut Pahor and Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic.

On the same day, he is also scheduled to attend a Slovenian-Bosnian business conference together with Tuerk.

On Friday, he is scheduled to deliver a lecture on the Western Balkans in Ljubljana, and visit the lakeside resort of Bled.

The visit will be the latest in a series of top-level visits exchanged by the two countries in the past year.

Only a month ago, the chair of the Bosnia-Herzegovina council of ministers, Nikola Spiric, was in Ljubljana for talks with Slovenian Prime Minister Pahor.

Tuerk visited Bosnia-Herzegovina in October 2008.
