The pair did not address the press, however Tuerk said on Tuesday that this would be an occasion to exchange views on topical issues, including today's EU-Russia summit on energy.
Tuerk also had plans to talk to Medvedev about his visit to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan last week. Tuerk noted that an invitation for an official visit had been extended to Medvedev a while ago. He expects the visit to take place at an appropriate occasion.
Medvedev was in Slovenia for a playoff between Slovenia and Russia, which brought Slovenia a ticket for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
His arrival presented a tough security challenge for the Maribor football stadium and the entire city. According to unofficial sources, the event was secured by a record 230 security guards and more than 100 police officers.
