Ljubljana, 15 November (STA) - Schedule of events in the week from 16 to 22 November:

MONDAY, 16 Nov
        SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar will pay a working visit to Bosnia.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar and Development and European Affairs Minister Mitja Gaspari will attend a two-day session of EU foreign ministers.
        ROME, Italy - President Danilo Tuerk, accompanied by Agriculture and Food Minister Milan Pogacnik, will attend a FAO world summit on food security.
        LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly will begin the November session with a Q&A session. The session ends on 25 November.
        UTRECHT, Netherlands - Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Henrik Gjerkes will attend a two-day conference of his counterparts from member-states of the Council of Europe.
        LJUBLJANA - PM Borut Pahor will receive activists of the Act Now! campaign who will hand him 10,000 signatures in support of a low-carbon society.
        LJUBLJANA - Minister of Labour, the Family and Social Affairs Ivan Svetlik will present his ministry's work in his first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Karl Erjavec will speak to the press about his ministry's activities in his first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - Business daily Finance and company Deloitte will present a list of 100 largest companies in the Adriatic region and a list of 25 largest banks and insurers in the region.
        LJUBLJANA - As part of the Ljubljana International Film Festival, a two-day session of producers from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia will begin, backed by the EU's MEDIA programme.
        LJUBLJANA - The International Centre for Promotion of Enterprises will host a two-day seminar on business diplomacy.
        LJUBLJANA - The Socius Business Club will host a panel on gas terminals discussing safe gas supply and risks to the environment.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - An international conference on health care quality and safety of patients, co-organised by the World Health Organisation.
        LJUBLJANA - The national Statistics Office and the Office for the Youth will speak to the press about what conditions Slovenia's young people live in.
        SZENTGOTTHARD, Hungary - The situations of the Slovenian minority in Hungary and the Hungarian in Slovenia will be discussed by ethnic minorities experts from both countries.
        LJUBLJANA - UNICEF Slovenija will mark 20 years of the convention on the rights of the child. On the occasion, the National Assembly will become the first parliament in the world to turn into UNICEF's Safe Point for children and the youth.

TUESDAY, 17 Nov
        LJUBLJANA - Greek President Karolos Papoulias will arrive on a three-day official visit to Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - Transport Minister Patrick Vlacic will present his ministry's activities in his first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament will debate in second reading a bill on alternative settlements and changes to the courts act, both designed to make courts more efficient, and pass changes to the corporate income tax and changes to the act on the implementation of the 2008 and 2009 budgets.
        LENDAVA - A session of the standing Slovenian-Hungarian commission overseeing the implementation of the bilateral agreement on the rights of the Slovenian minority in Hungary and the Hungarian in Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Property Owners will present their view on a new property tax the government intends to introduce.
        SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Defence Minister Ljubica Jelusic will attend a two-day meeting of defence ministers from the Western Balkans within the Adriatic Charter initiative.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - The Office for the Youth will organise a conference on the conditions in which young people in Slovenia live, to be attended by Education and Sport Minister Igor Luksic.
        LJUBLJANA - The new council of the national Pension and Disability Insurance Institute will meet for its maiden session.
        LJUBLJANA - NGO Drustvo Integriteta will present to the press this year's Transparency International Corruption Perception Index.

WEDNESDAY, 18 Nov
        MURSKA SOBOTA - The government will travel to the northeastern region of Pomurje for a working session.
        STRASBOURG, France - Slovenia will hand over to Switzerland a six-month term at the helm of the Council of Europe committee of ministers.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - The Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE) and the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE) will meet for a three-day plenary session.
        LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar will hold a news conference upon his first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - President Danilo Tuerk and his Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias will address and attend a Slovenian-Greek business conference.
        LJUBLJANA - Magazine Podjetnik (Entrepreneur) and the Chamber of Crafts and Cottage Industries will announce the title of entrepreneurs of the year.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's airliner Adria Airways will hold a news conference.
        LJUBLJANA - A news conference ahead of the 25th Slovenian Book Fair (24-29 Nov).
        MARIBOR - Slovenia will play the last of the two play-off games against Russia to determine the team to go to the Football World Cup in South Africa; at 8:45 PM.

THURSDAY, 19 Nov
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - PM Borut Pahor is expected to attend an extraordinary EU summit at which the president and the foreign minister of the bloc are to be chosen.
        LJUBLJANA - The government will meet for its weekly session.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament will fast-track changes to the deputies act which prevent one person from simultaneously holding the office of MP and that of mayor, pass a declaration on Slovenia's role in making a new global climate change policy, and appoint two central bank vice-governors.
        CERKLJE OB KRKI - Croatian Chief-of-Staff, General Josip Lucic will pay a visit to Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The National Council will host a debate on children's rights.
        THE HAGUE, Netherlands - Justice Minister Ales Zalar will attend a conference om mediation (Moving Mediation).
        MALMO, Sweden - Public Administration Ministry State Secretary Tina Terzan will attend a three-day informal meeting on e-government (5th Ministerial e-Government Conference Teaming Up for the e-Union).

FRIDAY, 20 Nov
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament will debate the closing account of the 2008 budget, changes to the motor vehicles act and changes to the banking act, both in second reading.
        RAVNE NA KOROSKEM - The national ceremony marking Rudolf Maister Day, with President of the National Council Blaz Kavcic the key-note speaker.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - State Secretary at the Agriculture Ministry Sonja Bukovec will attend a session of the EU Council for agriculture and fisheries.
        STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Labour, the Family and Social Affairs Minister Ivan Svetlik will attend a conference marking 20 years of the convention of the rights of the child.
        LJUBLJANA - Upon Universal Children's Day, Tone Dolcic of the Ombudsman Office will speak to the press about children's rights.
        LJUBLJANA - A panel will discuss the EU's role in encouraging development through competitiveness and/or cohesion, to be attended by Development Minister Mitja Gaspari and Mario Pezzini of the OECD.
        SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - President Danilo Tuerk will attend the 6th meeting of the Regional Economic Forum for SE Europe.
        MOSCOW, Russia - Transport Minister Patrick Vlacic will leave for Russia to attend a global ministerial on road safety. He is also expected to meet his Russian counterpart Igor Levitin.
        ZAGREB, Croatia - Minister for Slovenian Abroad Bostjan Zeks will attend a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of a Slovenian culture society in Zagreb (Kulturno prosvetno drustvo Slovenski dom).

SATURDAY, 21 Nov
        LJUBLJANA - A year since the incumbent government was sworn in.

SUNDAY, 22 Nov
        PIRAN - Piran Days of Architecture will kick off.
        VELENJE - Slovenia's Gorenje Velenje will play Germany's Rhein-Neckar Loewen in the 6th round of Europe's Handball Championships, group B, at 3:30 PM.
