NATO Supreme Commander for Europe Visits Slovenian Army

Vrhnika, 13 November (STA) - Admiral James G. Stavridis, NATO supreme allied commander for Europe, visited on day two of his visit to Slovenia the army barracks in Vrhnika. Upon the invitation of Slovenian Chief-of-Staff, Maj-Gen Alojz Steiner, Stavridis viewed a presentation of the Slovenian army.

Member of the Slovenian Armed Forces presented future capacities, structure and capabilities of the army, the Defence Ministry said in a press on Friday.

Stavridis was satisfied with the presentation, stressing he was looking forward to working with the Slovenian army in future NATO campaigns.

Stavridis is one of NATO's two strategic commanders and the Head of Allied Command Operations. He is also Commander of the US European Command and is as Supreme Commander responsible for executing all military measures to preserve or restore the security of Alliance Territory in case of an aggression against a NATO member state, according to the press release.
