Hribar, who is the director general of the tourism directorate at the ministry, said that the final tourism results for 2009 would probably be 1% poorer or even on par with last year's.
The number of tourist to visit Slovenia in the first nine months is down by 2%, while the number of overnight stays decreased by 1%.
STO director Dimitrij Piciga meanwhile focused on the importance of the British market for the Slovenian tourism industry despite the recent negative trend caused by the crisis. The STO plans to open an information point in Britain next year.
Slovenia is presenting itself at the WTM as a country with pristine nature which encourages environmentally-friendly behaviour. Another central feature of Slovenia's presentation is the 200th anniversary of the Ljubljana Botanical Gardens.
