Slovenia will join the observance of the European Day of Remembrance For Victims of Totalitarian Regimes, which the European Parliament declared in 2011 on the day of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact signed by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union on 23 August 1939, days before the start of World War II.

The Tartini International Music Festival, dedicated to chamber music and Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini, who was born in Piran in 1692, will open, running until 10 September; St. George's Church, 8:30 PM.
