Las Palmas, 2 September (STA) - Slovenia remained unbeaten at the FIBA Basketball World Cup after defeating minnows South Korea 89:72 (19:21, 40:39, 70:56) in Las Palmas on Tuesday in game three of the preliminary round. Slovenia's NBA point guard Goran Dragić was the player of the match with 22 points.

Brussels, 2 September (STA) - Outgoing PM Alenka Bratušek, a Slovenian nominee for the European Commission, was tight-lipped after an interview with European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels on Tuesday. "Mister Juncker will tell you everything," Bratušek told the press, while Juncker's office failed to issue any statements about the meeting.

Agrokor Increases Stake in Mercator to 80.75%

Ljubljana, 2 September (STA) - Croatian conglomerate Agrokor has acquired an additional 27.63% stake in Mercator to increase its stake in the Slovenian retailer to 80.75% as its bid for the outstanding Mercator shares expired yesterday, the on-line edition of the business daily Finance reported on Tuesday.
